Paranormal stuff: is it a cultural thing? Rant ahead

paranormal stuff is common where my family is from it's almost expected.

native american background, my great grandmother was a witch doctor a damn good one too, my non witness relatives dabble in it.

so i have seen stuff and experienced stuff.

To be sure, there are people who do imagine things. A jw friend that I had, believed there were demons lurking in a closet and had the elders come over and pray to get rid of them. But in knowing this person, I knew that her fears and sensitivity to that fear, was probably the cause. The more she thought of it, the more it became a reality.

I also knew someone who was schizophrenic. Although I knew something wasn't quite right, I wasn't sure what was going on. He finally told me. The stories he'd tell - I never could figure out if he was making them up or that they actually occurred. This had nothing to do with demons etc. I just worked on the assumption they weren't true until proven otherwise.

But as for myself, I'm as puzzled as the next person as to why I've experienced some things. After leaving JW land, I've tried to drop the "demon" aspect and simply viewed them as unknowable occurrences. If there wasn't something called religion tainting peoples viewpoints, it might be viewed in a more open minded way. But no one really knows me here. I'm just words typed on a forum. But I will tell you the first "out of the ordinary" event that happened to me.

so last night at around 11 while me and the wife were watching netflix and my cellphone rings.

i didn't make it in time and saw it was my mother who never speaks to me.

i decided to call back fearing something happened with my dad.

This religion makes all of the followers believe every misstep will result in eternal destruction. Here your mom is worried about you breaking a promise to one of "Christ's brothers". Well Peter lied about knowing Christ and Jesus forgave him.

But tell that to the GB and they will still impose upon the followers the strictest of the strict, without lifting a little finger of their's. The cruel religion keeps giving.

I have experienced a few things. The main theme just seems to be tricks. I didn't find them frightening. One was interesting and I went along to see what would happen. Another a reality twister. But in the end, I just wonder why whatever was doing it, bothered.

But relating it on the forum just invites the typical

you're mentally imbalanced
on drugs
influenced by JW land
chemically altered or driven
hysteria has taken you away
and don't forget you're schizophrenic

In the end, if a person doesn't know you, it's difficult to believe that something really happened other than the above reasons. My sister says, if it doesn't impact her life, she's just not going to think about it. She knows that I am none of the above but since there isn't a "normal" explanation, she just shrugs her shoulders. Even I don't 100% believe someone telling their experiences, especially if I don't know them well. So there you go.

A Story: "When Things Get Really Bad"

during the great depression in the 1930's people lost their jobs.banks closed, and long lines formed in the streets called "bread lines".people got up early and had to stand in line all day to get a free loaf of bread to feed their family!caution: do not read this story if you have empathy or compassion________ "when things get really bad".

in a cabin in the appalachian mountains, there was a family of four: two children (a boy and a girl), a mom and a dad (who had lost his job at the local sawmill).. things looked really bleak.

the children were afraid they'd starve to death.. "mommy," said the little boy, "are we going to die?".

I guess I've read too many short stories because I knew it was wax fruit. How much sadder it would have been if it was real and never eaten.

But I enjoyed your story.

the woman in middle is reporter susanna päivärinta and the lady at right is josefina pakomaa who was abused by family friend - a jw - when she was 11. a vicious apostate today.

i have a friend who got df'ed recently and he had a major role on a 5 min broadcasting film.

the film was made before he got df'ed (obviously), so it wont be on air.

as he told me it was to be on july or august program.

Obviously means that WT has full rights forever to the "model's" camera time. Any which way they want to use it.

Why pay hundreds or thousands in copyrights when you can get free slaves?

The Label Of "Apostate" And It's Effects

in my psychology studies we've been examining the use of "labels" and how they influence peoples behaviour.

i sometimes wonder if the gb or their helpers know exactly what they're doing when it comes to psychological manipulation.. it's been observed that by labeling someone or something it changes your entire perception of that person or thing.

it colours it entirely, quite unfairly in some cases.

You'd be surprised at how many high level people are sociopaths and psychopaths. Get a few running the show behind the scenes and you have a religion that allows people to die of blood loss. Without remorse.

The GB are just being used by them. I see the GB as people who love themselves more than anything. They enjoy the perks of being worshiped, lots of good eating and more than all else, the feeling they get from being in the exclusive club of going to heaven to be with their "big" brother.

Using labels is used by many to obtain an objective. In Nazi Germany, "dirty Jews" was used to dehumanize them and make it easier for Hitler to use them as a scapegoat.

The WT does know how to use it to. Whether it's the GB or the ones that run the show in the background - they've used it to destroy the credibility of anyone that has learned the truth about them and the organization.

I wonder how many JW's use labels in everyday life? My sister does. She uses it to elevate herself over others. So does another "anointed" sister. While driving by a trailer park, she would say it was full of "trailer trash". Funny how things turn out tho - she now lives in one and would be furious if she was called "trailer trash" But if the WT uses labels, then some that follow, would also be comfortable doing it too.

My favorite "apostate" talk said this "they work in satan's kitchen making ecoli burgers" meaning deadly burgers.

LOL Heap it on Satan's little helpers = GB (oh no! I labeled them)

Today’s meeting and CO visit

the meeting today was quite disturbing as usual and had to endure 2 talks by yet another egotistical, pompous co who gives talks like a hardcore southern baptist, but people adore no matter what crazy shit spews from their mouth.

today, he talked about jesus illustration about how if your eye or hand stumbles you, remove it.

he went into gory detail about how somebodies eye ball is pulled out from their head, and what it takes to cut someone’s hand off...perhaps even with a pocketknife...in front of many small children in the audience.

I remember another gruesome talk given around the memorial about how Jesus suffered and all the agony he encountered, step by step when he was stuck on a stake.

How many nightmares is that CO giving young kids? What if the parents tell them they are too young to get baptized? Then they sweat it out, hoping God won't kill them because they have to wait another year? Course, most parents would jump at the chance to have their child be one of the youngest baptized.

How difficult a time you must have had. I would be sad over the long years of loss that this lady has had. For me, unless they wanted to know the truth, I'd probably just let them be. Ahhh, so difficult.
